Presented by the independent weekly events listing Law and Order Party

If you have not yet been acquainted, lets begin with introducing The Law and Order Party. The website’s tagline ‘365 things to do in Rhode Island this year” scratches the under ground scene while listing worthwhile events in the Ocean State. The website was founded by Matthew Lawrence, a seasoned writer in the arts, who celebrates and acknowledges the states accomplishments through The Dorrys awards. Smack dab in between The Grammy’s and The Oscars, Lawrence felt compelled to deliver an event in the award season that highlights our state’s arts, books, drama, film, music, and performing arts.

The Dorrys are unique because they’re decided by a mix of reader picks and jury voting. In additional to awarding the arts, we admire that they also present awards to ‘six non-profit organizations, which this year geared heavily towards youth.’

The list of winners were released on November 12th and the reception is held this evening at The Good Will Engine Company, Providence’s newest hotel style- hostel in the South end of Providence.

General Admission is $20 (7–9pm) with a VIP hour ($60) from 6–7pm.
